Wildlife Activities For Families

I have teamed up with Old Buckenham Country Park to offer a number of wildlife activities for families. They are designed for all age groups and available to both residents at the campsite and casual day visitors. Scroll to the bottom of this page for the latest activities list . We’ll also post them on social media and the camp noticeboard.

Discover Activities

The opportunity for some hands-on investigation of the natural world. Plants, moths, eggs (replicas), bones and more, let’s get up close and personal and set out on a world of discovery.

Guided walks

Explore the wildlife found in the park and surrounding area. I offer a number of general nature and specific topic walks, designed for families, those new to wildlife and wildlife hobbyists.

Look and Learn Trails

Fancy exploring on your own or with the family? Pick up one of our self-led ‘Look and Learn’ trail sheets. You can choose from ‘Nature Treasure Hunt’, ‘Spot-it’ and the ‘Wildlife Detective’ activities.

Wildlife talks for families

Sit back with a drink and maybe a snack from the café and enjoy an entertaining interactive talk. I use photographs and props from the world of wildlife, making the talks accessible for all ages.

Nature Games

We have a number of activities for kids, from colouring-in to word searches, crosswords to puzzles. We also run regular family wildlife quizzes – see our notice boards for details.

Journal of Discovery

Start your own journal during your visit. They are great fun to put together, whether you keep a wildlife journal or one that covers your holiday, they are great for recording your special memories.

Wildlife Activities For Families

The following events will take place at the park on the dates shown. There is no need to book, just turn up and meet me at the Café. The events are FREE (unless stated), but donations towards the bird food fund are always welcome. Looking forward to seeing you there.
